Flushing flanged basket strainer is a development of the traditional basket strainer. It has a bottomless basket and a flushing valve. When flushing valve is opened, a small portion of the line flow to be diverted to drainage, carrying with it whatever debris has accumulated in the basket, to clean the basket, without removing the strainer cover, or closing system pressure.
